Happy Birthday Robin

Since it is Robin's Birthday I wanted to take the opportunity to wish her a Happy Birthday. I know she really enjoys blogging but she will survive sitting this post out. We are going to Lubbock this weekend, so I am sure she will have plenty of fresh information to blog about next week.

Since she is turning 29 today I thought I would share 29 things I love about Robin. These are not in any particular order and and she may be the only one that understands some of them, but here we go.

1 She understands me. (Sometimes that is hard to do)
2. She loves sports more then I do. (Also hard to do)
3. She likes that I am really a kid at heart.
4. She loves me for being me.
5. She is extremely organized and neat.
6. She attempts to keep me organized.
7. She plans our vacations around college and professional sporting events.
8. She has made our house a wonderful and relaxing place to live.
9. She is beautiful on the inside and outside.
10. She normally knows what I need without me asking for it.
11. She has wonderful parents that love me like one of their own.
12. She gets me the best gifts. (Sounds selfish on my part, but it is true)
13. She cries at the sad parts of movies and TV shows. (Even the sad parts in Friends)
14. She makes me a better and stronger person.
15. God and family are the two most important things in her life.
16. She enthusiastically supports everything Texas Tech. (She was yelling at the radio last Saturday night during all 3 interceptions)
17. It does not bother her that I cannot fix anything mechanical.
18. It does not bother her that I break more then I fix.
19. She hates the Longhorns and Aggies with a passion. (Just the football teams, not the individuals)
20. She is always there when I need her. (She rode to the office with me at 2:30 am about a week ago)
21. She checks me in early for my Southwest flights. (I like to get on the plane first so I can get an exit row)
22. She has found her passion in the photography business.
23. She cherishes our friendship.
24. She stands her ground when she knows she is right.
25. She apologizes when she is wrong.
26. She will make a wonderful mother some day.
27. She takes care of me.
28. She goes to bed with Sports Center on the TV.
29. She loves Birthdays.

Happy Birthday Robin
Love, James

Birthday Present

For my birthday I asked Jaime for a new bedroom. Our bedroom is wonderful, but it is a little plain. I have been wanting to decorate it for a couple months now.

We have lived here three years and it is the only room not decorated. Every other room has pictures on the wall and lots of "stuff." I can't say the same for our bedroom. There is nothing on the walls! We have huge ceilings in the bedroom and tons of wall space. Basically the bedroom looks empty even with all our furniture in there.

That is all changing today. The furniture has been moved to the middle of the room and the painters are coming.

I don't want to give anything away, but everything is changing. Take a look at the "old" bedroom for the last time.

Robin Perrin Photography Website

So excited!!! I finally got my website up and going. It took me a long time to get the website just the way I wanted. It didn't help that I know nothing about computers and codes and all that stuff. I finally sort of figured it out and I am so happy with the website.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

I don't have anything birthday related to report today, but still super excited about my birthday. Friday will be here before we know it.

Pool Party

I always wanted a pool party for my birthday party growing up, but Mom always told me it was too cold to have a pool party. I guess El Nino has changed that. Well, maybe El Nino and the fact that I live 400 miles south of Lubbock now. It was plenty hot to have a pool party yesterday, so a pool party we had.

My wonderful husband planned me a pool party for my birthday. He really is the best! Jaime and Wendee put the plans in motion and got everything set up. I had so much fun and it was everything I imagined. I had been imagining a pool party for a long time, since I was about 10 years old.

The party was complete with lots of great friends and food. I am so lucky to have great friends that love me so much. Truthfully, I am lucky all the way around. David cooked for the party and it was delicious as always. I had dove for the first time ever. It was so good. David wrapped it in bacon then grilled it. It was so tender and juicy.

We also had birthday cake. That is my favorite part of birthdays. Jaime got me chocolate moose cake. So yummy!

Thanks Jaime and Wendee for planning a great party. Thanks David for making some really yummy food. Thanks to all my friends for taking time out of their busy schedules to help me celebrate my birthday. Thank you Lord for so many blessings.

The Beginnings of College Football

I can' t even begin to tell you what a great weekend we had. College football completes me!

Saturday morning we were up in time to see College Game Day. It was the perfect start to a Saturday. Only problem was I woke up with a migraine. The migraine was really trying to ruin my day, but I was not willing to let it. I had taken some pretty heavy pain meds the night before when I felt it coming on. I also got up in the middle of the night and took another dose. I still woke up with the darn think.

Jaime was so sweet taking care of me. He made me breakfast and let me take a little nap. Finally I got up about Noon with no relief. Jaime got me a shot of Bazi and 3 Advil. An hour later my migraine was gone. Who would have known that Bazi and Advil would cure and migraine, but heavy pain killers would have no affect. Now I know.

After the migraine was gone I was ready to continue my day as planned. Watching football in my pajamas. I did just that. We didn't leave the house all afternoon. We stayed in the comfort of our living room and had the best day. I finally got ready about 7 and we did go out for dinner. We went to Outback for dinner so that we could sit at the bar and watch the OU game and the Alabama game.

We watched football all day and it made me so happy. I am so happy football is back. I love that it came back Labor Day weekend.

Now for my weekend analysis.

Tech - I am happy we won, but think we have a lot to work on. I am a little concerned that Potts threw 3 interceptions to the same guy. How does that happen? The defense needs a little work, but that is usually the case. Hopefully we will improve quickly because UT is coming up quick.

Oklahoma - I don't really dislike OU. I felt bad for QB Sam Bradford. Hopefully he won't be out long. I was happy for BYU. I think they don't get much credit and they should. They may not be in a very tough conference, but they are a talented team.

Oklahoma State - They are good and that worries me. One more team we have to worry about and we play there this year. Doesn't look good for us.

Baylor - Way to pull out the win. I will always cheer for the underdog. Go Bears.

I think that is about it.

I feel a great week coming on. It is birthday week and that makes me super happy. I have a feeling today will be a special day. A special day that involves cake. That is my kind of day.

High School Football

I am so excited football is finally back. My life seems complete again. Last night Jaime and I went to the local high school freshman football game. They won and looked better than last week. The team looked good last week, but this week seemed like they had settled in and just played football.

After the game we headed home to watch the first college football game of the season. It doesn't get much better than editing football pictures while watching college football. I love this time of year. Here are my favorites from the game.

We decided not to go anywhere for the holiday. I am kind of sad, but kind of excited. I plan on sleeping really late Saturday then watching football all day. I will be surprised if I make it out of my pajamas on Saturday. I am so ready for college football and I am going to welcome it by not leaving the house and dedicating my day to football.

This will serve as your week notice. My birthday is next Friday and I am super excited! I love my birthday. It will probably the topic everyday next week, so if you aren't interested in hearing about my birthday for 5 days in a row I would suggest you skip over my blog. Have a great Labor Day weekend.

New Logo

I know most of you said that the logo looked great and I didn't need to change anything, but I couldn't help myself. I just felt like something was missing. I could never put my finger on the missing part, but the logo didn't feel complete.

When I had lunch with Kara in Dallas we talked about the logo. She suggested I changed the colors up and even sent me a website to help me. Her suggestion was perfect!

I love the new logo! The small change just made it a little more fun. Hopefully it represents me a little bit better. What do you think?
