Party Time

Basically we spent the entire weekend in Lubbock partying.  It was lots of fun, but took me awhile to recover.  By Sunday I was glad we were home so I could catch up on some relaxing.

Friday we spent the day taking care of the kids.  Both Ann and Jeff had to work so Jaime and I volunteered to take care of the kids.  We had an eventful day.  We took the kids swimming at the gym.  Unfortunately we went at about 10am, but the pool didn't open till 11am.  We spent an hour trying to entertain the kids.  It worked and it wasn't too bad.  We ended up swimming for about 45 minutes and then both kids were ready to go.

We headed to Chick-fil-a after the pool to pick up lunch.  We headed home and both kids inhaled their lunch.  After lunch it was time for baths to clean all the chlorine off.  Both kids went right down for a nap after our event filled morning.  They both slept for over 2 hours.  It was perfect, it gave both Jaime and I a chance to go home for showers.

After nap time it was time for hair.  I braided Caroline's hair for our big night out.  All 6 of us went to see Thomas the Train on Friday night.  Thomas the Train wasn't all it was cracked up to for me, but the kids thought it was the best time ever.  John is still talking about Thomas the Train.  It was worth it to see the kids faces.

We got to Thomas an hour early.  They had this empty field set up with a bunch of activities for the kids.  There was a petting zoo and Caroline was in hog heaven there.  John found the fire truck quickly and he was in hog heaven.  It was like the Thomas the Train people knew exactly how to impress our peeps.

Finally, Thomas the Train was ready to take us for a ride.  The air conditioning didn't really work so it was a little hot inside the train.  Also, Thomas keep getting "tired" and having to stop to take a "nap."  I was afraid we were going to be walking back to our car.  Thomas wasn't the most reliable.  We also had a really annoying high school girl doing "fun" activities with us during the train ride.  These are my only complaints about Thomas.

If you ask the kids, the ride was perfect.  There were no problems and it couldn't have been better.  That is all that really matters.  Caroline got upset when Ann said she like the Polar Express ride better.  Ann quickly changed her mind to appease Caroline.

Now for the pictures....

The pictures make it look like it was a blast. I'm glad you and James were there so we could laugh about it together. Thanks again for watching the kids!
